The Story of Maverick Alberta

“And Alberta, land of conundrums and contradictions, is home to square dealers, ragers and lovers, contrarians all. We have been annexed and argued over, advertised and administered, we’ve battled banks and the weather and the price of wheat. We’ve sent men and women to war and welcomed home heroes. We’ve watched mining disasters and murders; we’ve made money and enemies; we’ve made friends and strung fences; we’ve made mud pies and history. And together we have reached the only logical conclusion: this is the best place on earth.”

The companion book to the Glenbow Museum’s Mavericks exhibition focuses on the particular characters that people the various exhibits in the show.
